Only Fools And Horses will be back this Christmas, reuniting the nation with the beloved Trotter family and their hilarious antics in Peckham once again.
A new documentary about the BBC sitcom will air over the festive season featuring Sir David Jason himself, as well as series regulars and a string of famous guest contributors. In the special Channel 5 program, the 83-year-old will reflect on all of the iconic moments from the award-winning comedy along with secrets from its legendary Christmas episodes.
Sir David Jason will also be joined by his on-screen wife Tessa Peake-Jones, who played Raquel Trotter, along with a line-up of celebrity fans like Theo Paphitis from Dragon's Den and Strictly Come Dancing contestant Krishnan Guru-Murthy.

The wholesome show has eighteen holiday-themed specials in total, with its final one airing on 25 December 2003 as the third and final part of its early 2000s Christmas trilogy. Sir David has remained unapologetically proud of his character, Derek 'Del Boy' Trotter, regularly attending Only Fools And Horses conventions despite its cancellation. He has also written The Twelve Dels of Christmas, a book which spills all the behind-the-scenes gossip and heartwarming tales from the show's festive specials.

"It wouldn’t be Christmas without the Trotters, so this is a great way for viewers to get their Only Fools fix," an insider told the Sun. "Producers were delighted when David was passed fit to appear following his surgery, so the special will be cushty for fans."

Speaking about his character to the Sun, Sir David admitted he'd be open to reprising the role in the future. "I’ve always loved Del Boy, who is such a wonderful loser. I would love to revisit him, I need someone to write me a script. As a show, it’s very important we don’t forget about it, it has a huge following, it fills in that need for an awful lot of people."
David also opened up about his hip replacement last month, assuring fans he is on the road to recovery and doing physiotherapy: "I am fine. I’m having a little trouble getting the muscles back because I was so infirm for two to three weeks. I wasn’t using the legs at all. That’s where I am at now, getting it back, doing some exercises. But the hip itself is wonderful."
