EastEnders fans have rumbled a harrowing death twist for Karen Taylor - as she prepares to leave the soap.

Actress Lorraine Stanley is departing her role as Karen sometime soon - and now fans of the BBC soap are convinced they've worked out she will be killed in a shocking turn of events, making her Walford exit permanent.

Some telling scenes this evening showed Phil Mitchell finally learning about Karen's connection to the kidnapping, spelling trouble for both Karen and her son Keanu - after Phil used his money to help pay the kidnapper.

Sharon is unaware that Albie was actually kidnapped by Karen and Keanu, before he was taken to be with her brother in law, whilst the search intensified. Sharon received a ransom note from the 'kidnapper', who demanded money to get Albie back.

With no choice, Phil stepped in to give Sharon the money to hand over to the kidnapper, which she did, and Malcolm safely 'returned' Albie back to Karen, leaving Sharon and Keanu overjoyed to have their son back.

However, in a shocking turn of events tonight, it was confirmed that Phil is now aware of Karen's deception after she handed over some of the kidnapping money to Kat Slater to pay for Mitch ruining one of her taxis.

Having marked the notes, Phil enlisted Sam to help him find the final bit of proof that Karen had something to do with Albie's disappearance. She later located a photo on social media of Albie with Malcolm, proving they had been together the whole time.

Some are now convinced this could mean that Karen will be killed by Phil Mitchell now he knows of her deceit - and it could get even worse if he learns that Albie is actually his son and not Keanu's as previously thought.

Speaking about her exit from the soap, Lorraine revealed: "I was sad, it was a mix of emotions, it's sad but it's exciting as now I can go and do what I want," and of her character Karen, she added: "I just want people to remember her as the best mum on the square, a heart of gold, she's give you her last fiver and would do anything for her kids - a bit like myself."

Could both Karen and Keanu die this Christmas in a shocking turn of events - now Phil knows the truth of what they've done?
