Strictly Come Dancing's Tess Daly left fans puzzled with her end of show announcement on Saturday night.

She revealed a big change to the show's format -–there will be no elimination this week, following Nigel Harman's sudden exit due to an injury. Earlier in the episode, EastEnders star Nigel explained how he sustained his injury, which led to his departure: "I was leaping off a rostrum and was about to be caught by some very handsome men. As I flew, I was Peter Pan and as I landed I was in AandE. I've done something to my ribs and it's a little bit painful."

Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly then confirmed Sunday's show will still go ahead – and instead of revealing the results of the public vote, which is not taking place this weekend, it will reveal which two dances the remaining couples will perform in next week's semi-final. The show will also feature a performance from Joss Stone and a dance number by the professional dancers inspired by My Fair Lady.

However, this announcement left viewers confused, with many questioning the need for a results show if nobody was going to be voted off. One viewer asked: "What's the point of having a show tomorrow?" Another added: "What's the point of having a results show without any results?"

"How can there be a results show with no vote?" questioned one viewer. Another viewer commented: "So there's still going to be a results show without any results! I guess they had the guests booked and are just going to talk to everyone about next week's dance."

With Nigel and Katya now out of the running, only four couples remain, with just two weeks left to go to try and impress the judges ahead of grand final on December 16.

The remaining couples, Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola, Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell, Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, and Annabel Croft and Johannes Radebe have all progressed to next week's show, when the battle for the Glitterball Trophy, will continue.
