Lenny Rush will make history as the first ever Children in Need child presenter this evening.

The 14-year-old teen will be joining hosts including Ade Adepitan, Mel Giedroyc, Jason Manford, Chris Ramsey and Alex Scott to front the very special three hour live show to raise money for Children in Need.

Lenny - who is best known by viewers for starring in BBC series Am I Being Unreasonable? alongside Daisy May Cooper - will be the youngest ever presenter of the show, and has admitted that the excitement has outweighed the nervousness as he prepares for the big role, which will see celebrities come together to raise money for worthy causes.

Speaking about joining the show, Lenny said: "It’s an honour and a thrill to be the first child presenter for Children in Need- I can’t wait to feel the buzz of a live show and to help raise money for children and young people across the UK facing disadvantages. I’m so excited and look forward to all of you joining me on Friday the 17th of November!"

Peter Davey, Executive Producer of the BBC charity show, shared of Lenny's appointment as host: "We are all thrilled to have Lenny join us live on the night. The Children in Need audience fell in love with him when he took over the 'Celebrity Call Centre' brilliantly in last year’s sketch - so getting him back to host for his first time this year is the next logical step."

Live from MediaCityUK in Salford, Children in Need will return with its three hour spectacle in a bid to entertain the nation all whilst raising money for young people across the UK. There will be a whole host of entertainment including a special Doctor Who sketch featuring returning Doctor David Tennant, whilst there will be big performances from the likes of Leigh-Anne Pinnock.

The Children in Need challengers - a group of inspirational young people - will be front of centre of the show, with two of them giving performances on the night with the help of some very famous faces. Vernon Kay will also find out the total he has raised as part of the Ultra marathon he took on with Radio 2, whilst there will be a Race Across Yorkshire special.

For the Race Across Yorkshire special, EastEnders' Ian and Cindy Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Michelle Collins), Birds of a Feather’s Dorien and Tracey (Lesley Joseph and Linda Robson) and Waterloo Road's Noel and Samia (Liam Scholes and Priyasasha Kumari) will take on a special parody challenge to find their way to Pudsey. Along the way the teams will bump into some big Yorkshire icons including Emmerdale’s Kim Tate, Marlon Dingle and Cain Dingle, Bradford’s very own Gareth Gates, Wakefield’s Jane McDonald and one half of Rotherham’s Chuckle Brothers, Paul Chuckle.
