BBC Breakfast host Naga Munchetty hilariously hit back at trolls who took an unprovoked swipe at her bold choice of outfit on today's show.
The 48 year old newsreader presented the morning show wearing a multi-coloured blue shirt which featured a sky blue section on one sleeve. In addition, on the other side of her ensemble was a green panel. And while she is no stranger to wearing eye-catching outfits, it seems her wardrobe choice was not to everyone's taste. Unable to grasp her alternative fashion style, a few viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to joke that she looked like a jockey.
One person wrote: " Naga Munchetty riding in the 9:30 at Aintree straight after BBC Breakfast, so clearly not worth going home to get changed first." Another said: "Is Naga going horse jumping ? What is she wearing." And a third tweeted: "Are you riding the 10:30 at Kempton today @TVNaga01". Seemingly taking the comments in her stride, Naga jumped straight on to the social media platform and hit back saying: "Yep - I always find a multi-purpose outfit incredibly useful x."
But there were some who absolutely loved her daring look. One viewer commented: "I think you look very nice." Another added: "Where is your amazing blue shirt dress from today? Looks so cool!" Meanwhile a third wrote: "loving your blouse." But this is not the first time the newsreader has been the subject of abuse over her choice of outfit. Back in September was forced to slam a troll after they branded her dress as "sleazy."
At the time, Naga had worn a grey silk dress and accessorised her outfit with full make-up and red lipstick. Once again, taking to X, one viewer wrote: "What is @TVNaga01 wearing?? Looks like she’s come straight to work from a night out at a sleazy single’s nightclub…" And Naga hit back saying: "Sssssh... don't tell anyone. (btw - it's called a dress)."
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessOn the back of her comment, fans praised her intellectual response as one person wrote: "I LOVE what you wear Naga!!! ALWAYS so stylish." Another person added: "What is it with people they have to criticise what people wear" And a third commented: "I love all your outfits. The most stylish presenter on TV and the most articulate." And at the time, the journalist shared with fans that she was dealing with a leg injury and posted a picture of her in a bandage.
She captioned the snap saying : "Have been using these supports again for running. Am able to go a little bit further and faster and fear injury less. It worked today for my run home. Happy Thursday x" And her fans wasted no time in showing their support. One said: "Until I started running in long socks I was always pulling calf muscles. The problem stopped! And in 2022 I was 1st of 173 over 60s in the London Winter Run. Blessed be long socks. Brag over!"
