Strictly Come Dancing's Krishnan Guru-Murthy has been hit with a tough blow just hours before he steps onto the dance floor with his partner Lauren Oakley.

The bookies reckon he might be the next star to leave the competition. The Channel 4 newsreader, 53, has danced his way into week eight of the show without once being in the dance-off. Despite his clear stage presence and ability to 'sell' the dance to the audience, the judges have noted his lack of technical skill in recent weeks.

Despite some positive comments from the judges, his Couple's Choice dance last week only earned him 29 points. People have started to think that his luck might be running out. Alex Apati of Ladbrokes shared why his luck might be running out, with Krishnan currently ranked at evens for being the next star to be eliminated this week.

"Krishnan Guru-Murthy should think about packing his Strictly suitcase, if the latest odds are anything to go by," suggested Alex. However, Krishnan isn't the only celebrity in trouble. Annabel Croft has odds of 15/8 to leave after last week's emotional Couple's Choice tribute to her late husband Mel.

Angela Rippon is also in danger with odds of 5/1 to be the next star to leave the competition. The news will no doubt come as a heartbreaking blow to all three stars, as the chance to perform at the world-renowned Blackpool Tower Ballroom next week is now within touching distance if they can make it through the week and avoid Sunday's dreaded dance-off.

For their dances this week, both Krishnan and Annabel will be taking on the challenge of the Samba, a lively and energetic dance that has been known to prove technically difficult for several contestants in the past.

Angela Rippon meanwhile, will be taking to the dance floor to perform a Paso Doble - her fourth Latin dance of the series, after appearing in the dreaded dance off last week for the first time.

Angela and her partner Kai Widdrington, went toe to toe with Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk in a tense dance off that divided viewers at home, but at the end of the night it was Angela that the judges chose to save in a unanimous decision.

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday 11 November at 6:05pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer*
