Heartwarming footage captured the moment a heroic guide dog towed its owner through the streets on rollerskates.

. The 26-year-old woman, from Switzerland, has a neurological impairment which makes it difficult to judge distances. She also has two neuromodulation implants which impact her mobility, and gets around this by putting on her rollerblades as her pint-sized pooch navigates her through the streets as she carries out errands and heads to appointments. Acting as a therapy dog too, the pet helps with sensory overloads and supports his owner through her various medical visits.

After some practice runs, the dog was quick to learn how to roller skate with her, and now the pair roll around the city for 20 minutes at a time. She learning to guide her came with a few trials, but that her four-legged assistant was now a vital part of her daily routine.

"It was really quick for him," she said. "He's a very smart dog. It took him about three tries to understand that he was allowed to run! Charlie might look like he is just running, but he is looking at what's happening around him, and waiting for commands to go left, right, straight forward, and stop.

"He comes with me to the hospital, to my weekly medical appointments such as psychiatric, physiotherapy, and the emergency room if things get bad. Charlie is my whole life. His presence in my daily tasks is vital."
