Bonnie Tyler not only surprised This Morning's Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary but she left viewers at home stunned too.
The Welsh songstress is celebrating 55 years in showbiz and is preparing to share her story for the first time in a brand new memoir, documenting the past 40 years of her life. In her memoir, Straight from the Heart, the star will reveal the early days of her career as well as the moment Whitney Houston asked her for an autograph.
But it wasn't her showbiz stories on This Morning that set tongues wagging as people couldn't get over Bonnie's youthful appearance during her conversation. Many flocked to X, formerly known as Twitter to share their thoughts while gushing over the Total Eclipse of the Heart singer.
"#ThisMorning Bonnie Tyler looks so good I mean," said one. While a second went on to write: "Bonnie Tyler is looking fabulous, beautiful woman #ThisMorning." Meanwhile, a third penned: "Bonnie Tyler looks fantastic #ThisMorning." Another commented: "Bonnie Tyler. What a fab guest. Love her. #ThisMorning."
While one tweeted: "Wow, she's still got it. #bonnietyler #thismorning." Bonnie, 72, also shared a shocking revelation with Alison and Dermot as she revealed her double life. The hitmaker revealed that Bonnie Tyler isn't her real name and when she's not on stage performing, she is a completely different person.
Phillip Schofield mocks Molly-Mae's baby name in cruel swipe at Love Island starShe went on to explain that she was born Gaynor Hopkins to dad Glyndŵr Hopkins and mum Elsie Hopkins. Discussing the star in her music career, Bonnie said: "I used to listen to Radio Luxembourg, all of a sudden to hear your favourite music on the radio was magic. I was always singing in my bedroom with a hairbrush, as us girls do.
"And my auntie put my name down for a talent competition, so that's how it started." She continued: "She always used to come to the house and I'd be upstairs singing and she'd say 'Gaynor's got a lovely voice!', that's my real name, 'Why don't she go into this talent competition that's going on in the local rugby club?' She put my name down.
"Although I was kind of like 'Oh no', I wanted to at the same time, I was extremely shy believe it or not." But when Dermot asked her if she slipped into another character when she was on stage, she explained: "I'm Bonnie on stage and Gaynor at home!" Although Bonnie may be a sensation across the globe, she admits she was blown away when a young Whitney Houston asked for an autograph and picture while she was performing in Japan.
