Rather than developing a plastic surgery habit, why not wear a nun’s one?
A habit is certainly cheaper than cosmetic work. Jenny Agutter says her role as Sister Julienne in Call the Midwife means she has been able to avoid going under the knife as she ages, because she can “tuck her face” into her habit on telly.
The 70-year-old actress, who is currently starring in the 12th series of the BBC drama, says: “Sometimes I look in the mirror and go, ‘Oh my God no.
“Sometimes I look at my chin, and think, ‘I could take a tiny little tuck there’, then I put my collar up or a scarf round me.
“A friend said to me recently, ‘You’ve got a great job at your age, playing a nun and wearing that habit’. It’s true – I can just tuck my face into it.”

The actress is a cover star for Good Housekeeping (PA)She says when considering surgery there are “too many clauses on the forms about damage you can do”.
Jenny was in her 20s when agents first suggested she went under the knife.
She tells Good Housekeeping magazine: “My eyes would get puffy due to water retention and they said, ‘You need to get rid of that’. Fortunately I didn’t do it. As an actor, you want to be able to use your face, not have it immobile.”
