As winter fast approaches, many Brits will be desperately trying to find ways to ensure that when they put their heating on, the heat isn't escaping and costing loads of money for no reason. Heating is not cheap, and so if heat is just escaping, you're wasting money as you're still going to feel really cold.

It can be really difficult to heat efficiently if you live in an old house, or can't afford to replace your windows, but TikTok creator @somekindofvintage has the answer to your prayers, as she shared how to "insulate vintage windows", promising her followers that it was a "quick and easy" method.

The content creator said: "You'll need a small bubble wrap, scissors, and a spray bottle with water. Cut the bubble wrap to fit inside the window frame, then lightly spray all of the glass. Then place the bubble wrap on the glass pressing throughout. Also, make sure to put the bubble side facing out so the bubbles are on the glass."

She then referred to it as "Easy insulation and privacy that can be removed in the spring" and it can also be "reused." What's great about this is that the bubble wrap doesn't stop any natural light from coming in like closing curtains or blinds would, meaning if you suffer from seasonal affective disorder, light will be able to still flood your space.

Experts at Glass Doctor, said that adding a layer of bubble wrap to windows can create an extra layer of "energy-saving" protection all year long, saving households a "small fortune" on their heating bills, reports the Express.

Bubble wrap can be purchased from Amazon for less than £5, and since it's saving you money on your bill, it's well worth the investment.
