NatWest is launching a new initiative that could make online shopping a breeze for its customers. The bank has introduced Click to Pay for those with a Mastercard debit card, including NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland or Ulster Bank Mastercards.
Click to Pay is a digital wallet where users can store multiple payment cards in one secure profile. This means you won't need to enter your card details every time you shop online, and you'll be protected by several layers of security, according to the bank.
To use the service, customers will need to log into their NatWest banking app and click on a button. They can then use Click to Pay at any participating retailers. When making a purchase, customers simply enter their email address at checkout and select "pay by card". Their Click to Pay profile will automatically appear, showing their stored cards.
The bank hopes this will solve the common problem of complicated checkouts, which often lead shoppers to abandon their purchases.
NatWest has teamed up with Mastercard to use AI technology to prevent scams before funds leave a victim's account.
