Dillon Danis went "six hard rounds" with former UFC champion Alex Pereira to prepare for his fight against Logan Paul.
Bellator MMA star Danis makes his boxing debut against YouTube star Paul this Saturday at the Misfits Boxing Prime card in Manchester. Danis, who is a longtime teammate of Conor McGregor, has remained quiet about most of training ahead of the fight and it's still unclear who will be in his corner on fight night.
Danis recently spent time at Cruz MMA in New Jersey to train with Pereira, who is gearing up for a light-heavyweight title fight against Jiri Prochazka at UFC 295 next month. Danis thanked Pereira for giving him hard rounds but refused to go into great detail about it by stating that he lives by the "Bushido code".

"He's f****ng really good and course he touched me, we had a good spar," Danis said on the Flagrant podcast. An eyewitness of the spar then said: "It was a really intense sparring session, it was actually one of the hardest sparring sessions I've ever seen him do. He did three six-minute rounds at a high pace, he didn't take a back-step. It was a high pace and there was no lull in the sparring."

Danis also trained with Pereira before his win against Jan Blachowicz in July but he refused to take credit for the Brazilian's victory by adding: "I don't wanna take credit for his win but I helped him for Jan fight and he said that he would help me for this and he drove all the way from Connecticut just before him going on vacation just to help me. It was really cool of him."
Danis hasn't fought in over four years as several knee surgeries and personal issues have significantly delayed his combat sports return. Bookies have Danis as a big underdog in his fight against Paul but Pereira said he was impressed by the multiple-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion during their sparring.
“It was great training, he said he enjoyed rounds with a specific type of sparring; it was a very nice training. It was the second time because the first time we trained was a few months ago. Dillon was able to pick up a lot of stuff today, so it was very good," Pereira said on The MMA Hour.
