Dan Osborne has revealed his wife Jacqueline Jossa is both "excited" and "worried" about her EastEnders persona Lauren Branning, ahead of the actress' return to the BBC soap.

Last month, it was announced Lauren, played by Jacqueline will be making an explosive return in the coming months. Lauren last appeared on screen in June when her character was involved in the Cindy Beale return storyline while her last appearance in Walford was in December 2022 for Dot Branning's funeral.

Speaking at Thorpe Park FRIGHT NIGHTS 2023 launch event, Dan revealed to the Mirror that Jacqueline is "excited" to be reprising her role of Lauren. He said: "She loves it. She's excited to go back, she can't wait.

"For a long time, she was worried Lauren was going to get written back into it, but now she is excited to go back. The time is right now for her so it's good." On whether he and Jacqueline will be sitting down with their two daughters, Ella, seven, and Mia, four, to watch Lauren's return, he continued: "To be honest, I don't watch much on TV, if anything it'll be Netflix or something like that.

"But, I'm sure the girls will watch bits – it depends what Lauren Branning gets up to and whether they girls want to see it or not." Dan explained his two daughters are not phased by their mum's latest TV role: "I don't think they really understand or think too much about it, they just love school, they're happy at home, they're so chill."

When the news of Lauren's return was announced, Jacqueline Jossa said: “I’m really excited! It’s such an amazing time to be back as there is so much buzz around EastEnders at the moment, and I’ve been watching and loving it like a fan. Walford holds such a special place in my heart, so it really does feel like coming home.”

Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer added: “I’m delighted to welcome Jaqueline back to the role of Lauren Branning. Although we only saw Lauren on-screen a few of months ago,her return left plenty of unfinished business between her and the Beale’s. The Branning family have a long history of being at the heart of the drama in Walford, and we’re absolutely thrilled to have Jacqueline back in the Square as she continues that family tradition.”
