Strictly Come Dancing is famous for its curse but some contestants have found true love on the BBC programme.
Just one year after she and her husband divorced, Ranvir Singh, 46, appeared on the programme and was partnered with Giovanni Pernice, with the pair being eliminated just one week before the final. However, she didn't find love with her dancer and broke away from the Strictly curse rumours.
Instead, Ranvir found love with a backstage worker on Strictly. It's believed that her boyfriend, Louis Church, was a production secretary back in 2020. Just one year after they met one another, Ranvir made their relationship official and gushed over her new beau. Ranvir tied the knot with Ranjeet Singh Dehal in 2012 and in 2019 left fans surprised when she casually dropped live on GMB that she was single.
Nonchalantly revealing the heartbreaking details of the reason for the breakdown of her marriage, told co-host Ben Shephard on air: "Well, I'm single," Ranvir confirmed she was no longer with her Ranjeet. She went on to suggest that she had found something incriminating on her ex-husband's phone when discussing a GMB segment about whether you should ever check your partner's device.
But two years after going official, we take a look into Ranvir's love life including her 18-year age gap with her boyfriend, Louis. The broadcaster is notoriously tight-lipped about her love life and doesn't give much away about her relationship - other than to confirm the pair are dating.
EastEnders' Jake Wood's snap of son has fans pointing out the pair's likenessSpeaking about her boyfriend's age, Ranvir said: "We don’t ever joke about the age difference. Actually, age is no guarantee of someone being wonderful to you. There are complete gits who are exactly the same age as you. Age can define life experience, but that is only valuable if you've learned from it – it doesn't always mean you've got your life figured out."
She also pointed out that maturity doesn't necessarily come with age, saying she was more immature than Louis when she was 27. Summing up their relationship, Ranvir concluded: "There are things that he is better at than I am in terms of just being a good human being and I'm learning from him. So to me, it's a complete joy," to The Sun's Fabulous magazine.
Despite competing on the programme in 2020 when the nation was gripped by the coronavirus lockdown regulations, Ranvir was limited to who she could interact with on the BBC show. She previously said that Louis was one of the few people who entered her backstage dressing room.
She gushed: "He's a really calm person and in the midst of all of that, there was just a really lovely energy." But while many may have been quick to judge their relationship, Ranvir's son Tushaan was quick to give his seal of approval for Louis. Their relationship has gone from strength to strength after the couple stepped out at Ascot Races with one another and looked more in love than ever.
