If you're in a relationship, you'll know that the most important element of it is trust, as without trust, there is nothing. You'll want to be able to rely on them to do the right thing in every situation, no matter the temptations that may be there.

So when one woman admitted that she'd been a "little snooper" and gone through her boyfriend's phone, for many that would be a red flag as it symbolises that she thinks he has something to hide, and that she had insecurities about what he was up to. And when she made a shocking discovery, she was lost for words.

The 29-year-old took to Reddit to share that she'd been with her 36-year-old boyfriend for five years - and she admitted that she "went through his phone", only to discover that he'd "made a Tinder profile" and she was worried he was "cheating." Tinder is an app where you can swipe right if you're interested in someone, and is commonly used for casual meet-ups, or dating.

She wrote: "We just moved to Minnesota, I relocated to be with him and his family and we have a two-year-old son. So this is really heartbreaking to me. I don't know how to bring up this conversation without it being turned on me for snooping. I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place because I do love him, but the betrayal hurts so I just need a little advice. So to all who read this, should I just ask him straight out or just let sleeping dogs lie?"

In the comments, people were concerned about why the woman still wanted to pursue a relationship with a man who wanted to "replace" her. One wrote: "Why would you stay in a relationship with someone who doesn't love you, doesn't care about you, and is looking to replace you?"

Someone else commented: "If he hasn't cheated yet he's sure trying to. Who cares if you snooped? You had a bad feeling and you were right." Another said: "I also had the slight inkling that my boyfriend was doing something funny. I snooped on his phone, found what I was looking for, and talked to him about it calmly. He denied it, and I believed it. He later admitted he was indeed, cheating. Get. Out."

A Redditor then pointed out that her boyfriend just having a dating app on their phone is cheating, as they wrote: "For your information, just having Tinder IS cheating. He's made his choice to seek attention from someone else besides the original poster."
