Man Utd set for triple injury boost with absent trio back to face Crystal Palace

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is set for a triple injury boost for this weekend's rematch with Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The club will evaluate the conditions of Sergio Reguilon and midfield duo Christian Eriksen and Scott McTominay ahead of their Premier League showdown with the Eagles. The trio were all absent from the 3-0 League Cup victory over the same opponents on Tuesday night.

Reguilon did not report at United's Carrington training complex after the win at Burnley, where he had requested to play despite feeling unwell. It is a standard procedure for United to send unwell players home or request they stay away from their training ground to prevent the spread of illness through the squad.

Eriksen and McTominay did attend training on Monday and were expected to feature against Roy Hodgson's side, before both were taken ill also.

Another player who could potentially feature this weekend is Lisandro Martinez. Martinez has missed the last two games with a foot issue and is continuing to experience discomfort in his right foot, following a metatarsal bone fracture suffered against Sevilla in April.

However, with Raphael Varane's return in midweek, manager Ten Hag already has four centre-backs - including Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Harry Maguire - to choose from. And with United having two more home games, against Galatasaray and Brentford, next week, it's unlikely Martinez will be risked, especially with the defensive line continuing to be hampered by injuries, with Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia and Aaron Wan-Bissaka remaining on the long-term injury list.

One other player who may not be sidelined too much longer is Amad. The 21-year-old looks likely to return to full first-team training following next month's international.

He has been absent recovering from a knee injury that has kept him off the field for over two months.
