A woman has revealed how she was cruelly bullied as a child for her looks - even being told she had been "beaten with the ugly stick" - but she's now had the last laugh as a successful model.

Opening up about her tormented school days and being a "strange looking child," April Opal never thought she would grow up to one day make money from her glamorous looks. She earns up to £30,000 a month and even though she still gets negative remarks about her looks, she takes it all in her stride and bats off the criticism like she did in her school days.

Being relentlessly bullied as a child has given April a thick skin, and now she's able to take down internet trolls without batting an eyelid. The 19-year-old from Middlesbrough was on track to study at Oxford University, but decided to sell sexy snaps of herself online instead, raking up thousands each month.

"I don't think I'm ever going to get used to the fact that I'm paid for how I look because I was a genuinely ugly kid. I got relentlessly bullied for being an ugly kid...I was a genuinely strange child and as I got older it never really got better...I was overweight and I didn't do my makeup and all of that s***," she told The Daily Star.

Despite hitting back at trolls and taking it in her stride, the school bullying has impacted her into adult life. April added: "So yeah it is actually kind of strange, it is like I am constantly waiting for everybody else to be like actually 'we are joking, we don't like how you look and really we think you are still that weird that kid'."

However, that doesn't stop her impressive quips online to haters, as she's become renowned for her quick-witted responses. Hitting back at one commenter who called her 'ugly', she wrote: "If this is ugly, what the f*** are you mate?"
