Rap star Dappy has shocked fans by posting a web message apparently threatening to shoot his business associates over a cash row.
In a rant on Instagram, the 36-year-old – who became a household name in N-Dubz – claimed he had been left £580,000 out of pocket. Dappy posted a gun emoji and wrote: “If anyone owed me even just a pinky [£50] on da roads I’d bunnn dem.” The word “bun” is street slang for firing a gun.
Dappy named an agent and a management firm, and said: “These funny looking fed c***s think they can just rob me like this and that’s mad. Watch [when] I actually see one of you.” Dappy formed N-Dubz with his cousin, Tulisa Contostavlos, and rapper Richard ‘Fazer’ Rawson.
The group took its name from the NW postcode of their home in London’s Camden. The group had several hits including Playing with Fire and I Need You. Dappy’s outburst comes after N-Dubz released a new album last month. Former Big Brother contestant Dappy, who has 377,000 Insta followers, has had a chequered past of violent crime.
In 2017, he was spared jail after brandishing a butcher’s knife during a row with his partner. The people named in Dappy’s post did not respond to requests for comment last night.
