Cleaning can be time-consuming but it's totally necessary. Especially in bigger households, bathrooms get a lot of traffic and they need special attention and an extra scrub to make sure that any urine or poo smells do not linger. Urine smells cannot be masked and need to be tackled directly, and Mrs Hinch fans have been sharing their success stories using a cheap product - without the need for bleach.
The magic product banishes unwanted scents, and it can cost under £1 from certain retailers. Fans of the hack have been raving about it as they're shocked it works so well.
As an alternative to bleach, Mrs Hinch fans suggested shaving foam, criticising bleach saying that the "smell just came back and it was bad" after they used the common household product. Fans of the foam said it was underrated, writing: "It not only cleans the area, but it deodorises it too." Another person said: "Shaving foam and scrub works wonders. The previous tenant must have missed the toilet and could smell wee, but that is no longer the case now."
The praise for shaving foam kept coming another cleaning fan said: "Shaving foam eliminates the smell of urine on contact unlike with bleach" and another added: "Shaving foam in the worst areas, then clean with an anti-bacterial cleaner." Shaving foam can be found as cheaply as 95p in supermarkets such as Aldi, meaning it's well worth the investment.
Offering an alternative to shaving foam, one Mrs Hinch fan suggested another common household item that could be used as a bathroom cleaner that is often used for other purposes. She suggested: "I would try washing around the area with biological laundry powder as the enzymes in it should break down the smell."
