Podcasts featuring comedian Russell Brand are still available to listen to on BBC platforms, after allegations of sexual assault and abuse by the comedian have emerged.
Episodes of podcast 'Front Row' and 'Desert Island Discs' featuring Russell Brand are still live on the BBC Sounds website and app, after allegations against the comedian and TV presenter were aired in a programme that aired on Saturday night (16 September)
A combined investigation between Channel 4 Dispatches, The Sunday Times and The Times highlighted Brand's behaviour to women. It includes accounts by four women who raised allegations including rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse., with the incidents taking place between 2006 and 2013, when Brand was at the height of his fame. In response to the claims, Brand has denied all allegations and said all his relationships have always been consensual.

The episode, from 2013, features the comedian discussing arts news with Mark Lawson and also an in-depth interview. In another podcast episode of 'Desert Island Discs', also from 2013, Russell Brand's choices are discussed alongside presenter Kirsty Young.
The BBC podcasts come as the BBC has confirmed that they are looking into allegations of misconduct by Brand during his time working for the corporation as a matter of urgency. In a statement, the BBC said: "The documentary and associated reports contained serious allegations, spanning a number of years. Russell Brand worked on BBC radio programmes between 2006 and 2008 and we are urgently looking into the issues raised."

The investigation by Channel 4, The Times and The Sunday Times alleges that the incidents of assault, rape and abuse took place between 2006 and 2013. During this time Brand was a presenter on BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4. In response to the allegations raised by The Times, The Sunday Times and Channel 4, Brand has denied all allegations and has said his relationships have all been consensual.
Speaking in a video shared to his social media channels, Brand said: "I've received two extremely disturbing letters or a letter and an email. One from a mainstream media TV company, one from a newspaper listing a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks, as well as some pretty stupid stuff like community festival should be stopped, that I shouldn't be able to attack mainstream media narratives on this channel.
"But amidst this litany of astonishing rather baroque attacks, often very serious allegations that I absolutely refute. These allegations pertain to the time when I was working in the mainstream, when I was in the newspapers all the time, when I was in the movies. And as I've written about extensively in my books, I was very, very promiscuous."
