Meghan Markle's doting yet estranged father Thomas Markle Snr has spoken out in an emotional story and said that he will love his daughter forever, despite their bitter ongoing feud.
Appearing on the British television programme Good Morning Britain today, the retired director, who turns 80 next year, begged his daughter, the Duchess of Sussex, to let him see his grandchildren Archie and Lilibet, whom she shares with Prince Harry.
Thomas, who suffered a stroke last year, hasn't seen Meghan and Harry in five years, with the last time they spoke being when he was in a hospital bed before the couple got married.
Thomas Markle made an emotional plea on Good Morning Britain today (ITV)After making an emotional plea to his daughter, whom he only lives a short drive away from, Thomas confessed his love in a very public way. Speaking to the hosts of the programme, Thomas emotionally said: "I've always been here for her, I love her, I'll love her forever. I want her to reach out to me and let me see my grandkids and let me have a little peace. It's been five years."
Elsewhere in the interview, Thomas spoke of how he still hasn't seen his grandkids. He said: "I want to see my grandkids and I think the King wants to see his too," referring to King Charles III and how he hasn't seen much of his grandchildren since Meghan and Harry stepped down as senior working Royals in 2020 and moved to Montecito, California.

Thomas has pleaded with his daughter on national television (Getty Images for the Invictus Games Foundation)He went on to say that he feels "heartbroken", adding: "I'm very upset about it as well because this is a cruel thing to do to a grandparent, not just me but to the King as well, to deny the right to see a grandchild." He then pleaded: "Put the past behind us and allow me to see my grandkids."
Thomas added that he has done "nothing wrong" and has been a "loving father" with there "no excuse" for her to treat him in this way. This comes after he was caught in a widely-reported paparazzi scandal before his daughter married Prince Harry in 2018, leaving the former actress feeling "betrayed".
