Two sisters who had allegedly drunk one too many before their flight were refused boarding in New Jersey - and threw a huge tantrum.

The pair were in Newark airport and wanted to board the Aer Lingus flight to Dublin, but found themself in a confrontation with airline staff and the police as they were refused boarding. One woman, who said she was a lawyer, warned the cops there would be consequences if she was arrested.

The video was recorded by a fellow passenger and shared by a TikToker who said they were behaving “erratically” after being told they wouldn’t be flying at 8pm. In the video, one woman is seen jumping up and down shouting “Can anybody help us? Please somebody help me. Please!”. The woman seems distressed as onlookers watch on with bemusement.

The video shows a blonde woman sobbing while her sister promises they will still go to Ireland, saying: “I’m not going to let you down. We’re going to Dublin!”. The brunette sister then argues with staff about not being let on the flight, before she begins shouting to the crowd of people to help - while the blonde woman appears to accept they won’t be getting on.

Afterwards, a police officer is seen wrestling with the brunette woman while she screams - her sister, also being held by an officer, doesn’t resist. The brunette woman is wrestled to the ground as the blonde woman speaks to the camera - but there is no audio on this section. The TikToker who posted the video could not stop laughing as her friend showed her the events unfolding on a FaceTime call.

A Port Authority of New York and New Jersey spokesperson described the woman as “intoxicated”, explaining that “officers made attempts to de-escalate the situation, but the women disregarded their instructions”.

The brunette woman received a criminal summons for disorderly conduct, while the blonde woman was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest, according to the Daily Dot. The full TikTok can be viewed below.

It is unconfirmed whether the two sisters ever made it to Ireland.
