Love Island’s Jack Fincham has denied using drugs after he was arrested for careless driving.
The 31-year-old, who won the ITV2 dating show in 2018 with ex-girlfriend Dani Dyer, was allegedly travelling at high speed on 26 August when stopped by police on the A2 near his home in Swanley, Kent. Jack was given a blood test and held on suspicion of careless driving, and driving without insurance, but he has denied taking drugs in a statement from his solicitor, who fired back at the claims.
“Mr Fincham has not been charged with drug driving and denies any drug consumption whatsoever,” his solicitor Conor Johnstone, of M.A.J Law, told The Sun. “There is no evidence at this stage that Mr Fincham drove whilst over the legal limit and we are hopeful that his blood results will prove the same.” A spokesperson from Kent Police told The Mirror: "On Saturday 26 August 2023, officers arrested a 31-year-old man from Swanley on suspicion of drug driving, careless driving, driving without insurance and driving while displaying false number plates, on the A2 near Dartford. He has since been bailed until 26 November 2023."
His arrest came just weeks before he was set to fly out to Fiji to take part in the hotly-anticipated all-star version of the ITV2 dating show, Love Island Games, which will begin on 1 November. Jack was released under investigation until 26 November, which could scupper his plans to star in the Love Island spin-off. Mirror Online has approached Jack’s rep for comment. It’s not the first time he’s been arrested while behind the wheel - in 2021, he was arrested by police who pulled him over near his Kent home while he was driving his £30,000 Mercedes. Jack was accused of driving while under the influence of drugs and he denied taking cocaine and Valium, and just before his trial was due to begin, the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges against him.
His lawyer claimed that there was insufficient evidence to prove Jack had any drugs in his system, and said any indication was a “false positive”. They added: “Ultimately, the Crown were unable to present any reliable evidence to prove that Mr Fincham had drugs in his system.” Despite having the charges dropped, Jack still decided to turn his life around, and as he welcomed in the New Year in 2022, he vowed to make big changes to his party lifestyle.
Love Island's Haris spills on unaired row between Zara and TanyelDubbing 2022 as “my year,” Jack went on: “Right my wrongs , clean slate and and more importantly prove myself right and certain people wrong. A year of success to come.” His career has certainly gone from strength to strength in recent months, as not only is he set to star in the Love Island Games, but it’s been reported he will be joining more famous faces for the upcoming series of Celebrity Ex On the Beach. Love Island fans will be keen to see Jack looking for love once again, and in the all-star series, he will join other former Islanders to compete in a series of challenges while trying to find The One.
