Football Manager 2024 marks the 20th entry in the iconic series, and to celebrate, some major changes are coming to the game.

Sega and Sports Interactive have confirmed that Football Manager 2024 (including FM24 Console for Xbox and PlayStation, FM24 Touch for Nintendo Switch, and FM24 Mobile) will be launching globally on November 6, 2023. Football Manager 2024 is the 20th edition of the franchise and to celebrate, the game is launching in Japan for the first time in the series' history. The announcement was made alongside a brand-new trailer today.

Alongside the release date, it was announced that Football Manager 2024 Mobile will be available exclusively through Netflix Games on the Netflix mobile apps. Unfortunately, this means you won't be able to play the mobile version of Football Manager 2024 without being a Netflix member.

Sports Interactive's Studio Director claims in the press release that Football Manager 2024 will be "the most complete version we’ve ever produced". This lines up with previous statements from the Director earlier this year after Football Manager 2023 was criticised in which he claimed "The vast majority of the team at Sports Interactive are working on FM24, with the idea that it will inarguably be the most complete version of Football Manager to date".

It makes sense to go out with a bang as Football Manager 2025 is poised to be a 'true sequel' to the series by overhauling it.

Back of the net

Football Manager 2024 seems to be a breath of fresh air after Football Manager 2023, even the ability to transfer your saves from 2023 alone is exciting enough. Hopefully, the team's claim of it being the most complete version of the game is true and everyone can pour thousands of hours into it like they have every single year.

While the Football Manager 2024 Mobile version being locked to Netflix is a bit of a bummer, it's undoubtedly a great way to get the game into the hands of more players. However, it's a massive shame you'll need a subscription to play and can't buy it otherwise. At least there's always Football Manager 2024 Touch for playing it in bed.
