Gossip Girl star Taylor Momsen has unveiled the dark side of taking her role as Cindy Lou Who in the hit Christmas movie How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Taylor, 30, has said that she was "relentlessly" bullied after taking on the sweet and sugary role of blonde hair and blue-eyed Cindy Lou, with her now opening up on the "challenging" way in which landing the role impacted upon her and her life in the aftermath of the movie.
Speaking on SiriusXM's Podcrushed podcast with her on-screen brother from Gossip Girl, Taylor admitted that starring as Cindy Lou in The Grinch changed her life in a "multitude of ways" before brazenly admitting: "One of them being I was made fun of relentlessly."

In Gossip Girl, Taylor played Penn's sister (Instagram/taylormomsen)Chatting with YOU star and former Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley, Taylor then added that "making friends was always challenging" with this becoming even harder when the movie came out in 2000. She said: "Every time I would start a new school or go somewhere else, I don’t even think the kids knew my name. I was just Grinch Girl."
She went on: "Not even the character name, just ‘Grinch girl.’ I got used to it, but it was alienating." Taylor then said that she was quite shy and "socially awkward" while at school before revealing that it was in middle school that she finally had the opportunity to try and make some friends.

Speaking on the podcast, Taylor explained: "I put a band together. It was my first band, my middle-school band, a garage band. We never could settle on a name. But we would jam after school, and that was always fun. I was singing, playing guitar, writing."
Taylor is best-known for starring in The Grinch as a young kid before she landed the iconic role of Jenny Humphrey on The CW's teen drama series Gossip Girl, with her starring in the series from 2007 until 2012. And since 2009, Taylor has been the front-woman of the American rock band the Pretty Reckless since their inception in 2009.
