Holly Willoughby set for new primetime roles as ITV look to 'bulk up her roster'

Holly Willoughby is more in demand than ever, with TV bosses sounding her out about hosting a raft of new shows.

ITV is keen to “bulk up her roster” alongside This Morning and Dancing on Ice, according to an insider. They said her team was having a “number of conversations”, including potential new primetime shows.

A source said: “Holly loves This Morning, sees her future very much on the sofa and is not going anywhere. But she is always keen to listen about any new ideas, and opportunities, particularly in primetime, to co-exist along her daytime role.” The BBC is also keen to work with her again.

The scale of the talks show that Holly has “fully moved on” from the departure of Phillip Schofield, and the subsequent fall-out. The source added: “It was a tough time, but Holly didn’t do anything wrong, and she has always been really upfront and honest. In fact the fall-out has only made her mentally stronger, in many respects.”

Holly was on good form at the National Television Awards on Tuesday night, where she didn’t duck any questions. A source said: “It’s very much business as usual.”

While Holly wasn’t up for an individual award, her show This Morning lost out in the daytime prize to The Repair Shop after a 12-year-winning run. This Morning insiders are remaining upbeat despite the loss. A source said: “The winning streak was always going to come to an end.

"Everyone is excited about the future of This Morning, not least with the new-look presenting rota currently in operation. People are loving the pairing of Holly and Craig Doyle this week, and we have Holly paired with both Dermot O’Leary and Josie Gibson next week too. There is a wealth of talent, and viewers are responding really well to us mixing it up.”

Holly revealed on yesterday’s show why she was not feeling worse for wear. She said her lilac ballgown was so tight she could not go to the bathroom, which forced her to limit her drinks. She laughed: “I’m over sharing too much right now but I’m just going to tell you the truth, and I couldn’t pull it up to go for a pee.”
