Vicky Pattison says she has been bombarded with negative comments from fellow women after revealing she suffers from PMDD.
The 35-year-old reality star opened up to her fans via social media last week to reveal she had been diagnosed with the condition - which can cause painful side effects caused by her period. But since sharing her news, the star has been targeted by online trolls who have mocked her condition.
Taking to TikTok on Sunday, Vicky hit back at her haters and demanded other women do more to support her and others that have the condition. Dancing to music, she wrote alongside the video: “Things I’ve had said to me since I got diagnosed with PMDD.”
She then revealed one social media follower replied to her news to write: “Another celeb just creating an illness to stay relevant.” And another wrote: “The majority of us suffer. We just get on with it.”

The reality star added: “You've got to laugh... or you'll cry... All of these from women aswell btw… Howay lasses, its 2023.. lets do better!”
Fortunately, the comments section of Vicky’s TikTok video was filled with more positive statements. One fan replied, writing: "I had a hysterectomy because of my PMDD and used to take valium for the rage. Thank you for raising awareness.”
Another wrote: “recently had my PMDD diagnosis after suffering for years, I admire you so much for bringing awareness to PMDD.”
And another fan wrote: "More people need to know about PMDD!”
PMDD stands for Premenstrual dysphoric disorder and is a health problem that can affect those who experience periods.
The NHS states: “"Symptoms of PMDD are similar to PMS (premenstrual syndrome) but are much more intense and can have a much greater negative impact on your daily activities and quality of life."
The health organisation warns: "Symptoms can include: physical symptoms such as cramps, headaches and joint and muscle pain, behavioural symptoms such as binge eating and problems sleeping, or mental and emotional symptoms, such as feeling very anxious, angry, depressed or, in some cases, even suicidal”.
The NHS advise those worried about the effects of PMDD to contact their GP or dial 111, and that they should call 999 if they feel they may self harm. The cause of PMDD is unknown, but the NHS states: “it has been linked to sensitivity to changes in hormones or certain genetic variations (differences in genes) you can inherit from your parents.”
Vicky previously explained that she was relieved to be diagnosed with the condition - after spending years battling the side effects of periods. She said in an Instagram post last month: “I have struggled with my periods my whole adult life, but over the last 5 years or so my PMS symptoms have been completely out of control.
“It has affected my relationships, my work and my quality of life. At times, it made me feel like I was going insane. I just do not recognise myself for two weeks of the month and ever so gradually that time frame is becoming longer.”

She explained her relief following her diagnosis, Vicky added: “I cried because I felt f***ing heard in a medical setting for the first time in years and also I cried because hopefully now I can start trying to manage this rather than just ‘get on with it’ like I feel like women are expected to. For the first time in ages.. I feel more positive.”
