Love Island star Catherine Agbaje revealed disgusting trolls told her to kill herself following her time on the ITV2 dating competition.

The Dublin reality star gained a legion of fans when she appeared on the series earlier this summer. However, when she returned from Casa Amor with Elom and left Scott standing by the firepit with his heartbroken, many trolls used it as an excuse to send abusive messages online.

Catherine was a real estate agent before being thrust into the limelight so it's not a surprise there was a 'lot of adjustment' when she came out of the villa. Speaking about the abuse she received, Catherine said it was "horrible" as some trolls told her to "go and kill" herself.

"I never experienced anything like that before. Having a bunch of randomers giving me abuse in my DM’s every single day, I was really taken aback by it," she explained before admitting she blocked all the abusive messages. "I didn’t feed into it though and I stayed off my phone and I didn’t look at my DM’s."

Speaking to Irish Mirror, Catherine added that she never reported the messages to authorities as she didn't think they would be able to do anything about it. After leaving the show, fans caught glimpses of Catherine and Scott getting cosy at parties, events and the Love Island reunion.

Many hoped the two would get back together but their dreams were dashed when he made a shocking appearance on the US version of Love Island. Things didn't last long as he only lasted one week despite hooking up with fellow contestant Johnnie Olivia. The pair were dumped from the villa after viewers were asked to vote for their favourite couple - cutting Scott and Johnnie's time in the villa together short.

Speaking of their sudden exit, Johnnie explained: "Leaving together feels relieving, because I came in here to find a person – my person, and I feel like I made such a great connection. We’ll see where it goes.”

Clearly sharing the same sentiment, Scott added: “My time in the villa was short, sweet, but worthwhile. I’m excited to see how the connection with this one goes. I like being around her.” Despite some fans being excited to see Scott's return, others branded him a "game player" as they sparked speculation of him knowing that he was set to join the US version while filming for the UK one.
