Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton has shared the first photos of her baby daughter Kitty after revealing the birth caught her by “surprise” as she arrived early.
The 41-year-old, who is already mum to sons Josh, 21, Harry, 18, and Alfie, 13, and eight-year-old daughter Ella Rose from previous relationships, welcomed her fifth child with Charles Gay, who she married in 2021, on August 14.
Taking to Instagram to share a video montage of the first weeks of Kitty’s life with her 158,000 followers, Natasha penned: “Almost 3 whole weeks of loving you Kitty,” followed by a love heart emoji.
Revealing more details about her water birth, the Whole Again singer shared: “You came into the world over 3 weeks early giving mummy quite the surprise when daddy was working in London! But you held on in there until he got home and from the second we laid eyes on you, we’ve been totally besotted with you.
“The first few weeks brought us some challenges and quite a few sleepless nights but you’re out little warrior and we are so happy that you are now thriving and growing and pooping like a little trouper!”
Kerry Katona admits having 'no regrets' and claims she's never 'made mistakes'The video showed Natasha in labour as she opted for a water birth, before changing to the very first pics of baby Kitty after she had been born. The whole family, including dad Charles, and Kitty’s big brothers and sisters then took it in turns to hold the newest addition to the family.
Ending the post, Natasha said: “The new baby bubble continues, we feel blessed that you are ours. Thank you to everyone who has sent us such lovely messages and well wishes. Kitty is just perfect.”
Some fans thought Natasha had picked the name Kitty as a tribute to her band Atomic Kitten, but she was quick to correct them, telling OK! magazine: “We’re going to call her Kitty Iris Gay. Kitty has nothing to do with the band! My grandmother was Kitty and Charles’ grandmother was Iris and we just loved those names together.
“They’re quite old-fashioned, but there’s also a newness to them – they’re unusual and so cute. Also, Ella is Ella Rose. I liked that both girls would have flowers as their middle names. When we came up with Kitty Iris, we didn’t even consider anything else.”
Fans and friends were quick to comment on the adorable snaps with one saying: “She is absolutely perfect can’t wait for cuddles, you and Charlie have done amazing. Kitty is going to be one tough little lady for sure.”
Another wrote: “She’s beautiful. Lovely name. Many congratulations to you both again xx.” A third said: “Oh she is going to be so loved!!! I can’t stop smiling for you all. Amazing journey, so tranquil.”
“Absolutely beautiful and such precious times for you all,” a fourth commented, while a fifth added: “She’s beautiful, she’s fitted in well with the others and I bet your daughter won’t leave her alone. Congrats again to you all!”
