Hollywood superstar Ryan Reynolds made sure to welcome his newest Wrexham recruit to the fold after pulling off another major coup.
The world-famous actor and co-chairman Rob McElhenney have had a knack of convincing big names to join the project in North Wales in recent times. Having already convinced former Premier League player James McLean to move to the Dragons, they have worked their magic once more.
This time around, they have been able to snare the services of Millwall midfielder George Evans, who has dropped down two divisions to join the club. The former England youth international has previously turned out for Reading and Derby County in the second tier.
The 28-year-old first came through at Manchester City and went on to clock up an impressive 147 appearances in the Championship after leaving his boyhood club. He will also add some versatility to Phil Parkinson's squad, given his ability to play in midfield and defence.
The Deadpool actor made sure to welcome his newest recruit to the Racecourse Ground with a message on his Instagram account on deadline day. Taking to his Stories section, he posted a snap of the former Millwall ace, while tagging him along with the caption "Welcome to Wrexham".

This club is definitely going in the right direction and it's something I was desperate to be a part of."
The new Wrexham signing also explained how he could prove to be an asset for his new employers, adding: "I like to get on the ball, break between the lines and play passes from deep. I've met all the lads and I know James Jones and Anthony Forde from previous clubs so I'm just really excited to get going now."
With the Red Dragons having made a mixed start to the new EFL season, Evans' signing has come at a crucial time for the team as they look to kickstart their campaign. They currently sit in 16th place in the table after five games played this term so far.
Head coach Parkinson will be bouyed by the fact that his new signing should be available to play in the club's upcoming game versus Tranmere Rovers. The clash versus the Merseyside club is likely to be a tasty encounter, with many supporters seeing the match as a derby fixture.
The Wrexham manager also added his own delight at the midfielder's move to North Wales adding: "We’re very pleased. George [Evans] is a good signing for us with a lot of experience at Championship level and he brings real quality into the squad."
