Liverpool have endured a busy transfer window, but their dealings will soon be over until January.

Jurgen Klopp has overseen a mass overhaul in midfield with a host of major names leaving and arriving. More could still be added as the Reds look to ensure they are well-stocked in the middle of the park with sufficient protection for their defensive line.

Mohamed Salah continues to be linked with a move to Saudi Arabia as the Kingdom prepares a mammoth bid to test Liverpool's resolve. With no time to find a replacement, it would appear unlikely that the Merseysiders will say yes, but money does talk. Here are the latest news lines from Anfield.

Fulham hold trump card in Gravenberch pursuit

Liverpool continue to push for Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch - and have agreed a €40m (£34m) fee with Bayern - but could still miss out if the German club don't land Joao Palhinha from Fulham.

Gravenberch is keen to move to Merseyside, and is expected to fly in on Friday for a medical, with minutes very much at a premium with the Bundesliga outing, whom he joined last season. Bayern though are not willing to let the former Ajax man depart without finding a replacement.

They have their sights firmly fixed on Palhinha, but there is no guarantee they get their man with Fulham not wanting to sell. Fulham value the Portugal international at £50m.

Thiago given future move advice

Thiago's father, Mazinho, would like his son to join up with Celta Vigo with his Liverpool future unclear.

The Spanish midfield joined in 2020 from Bayern Munich but only has a year left on his deal and the club may opt to let him run down his deal whilst there have been links with Saudi Arabia. However, his father, a World Cup winner with Brazil, wants him to move to Spain to play for his former club.

He told Mundo Deportivo: "In football, you never know, I hope so but at the moment it is very complicated because Thiago has another dimension and another lifestyle. But I wish Thiago could come here."

Mazinho also added: "Almost all the memories I have from here are very good. Vigo is our home, Rafa has had the opportunity to come here later to play two seasons, for the whole family, Celta means our home."

Phillips heads to Celtic

Nat Phillips has headed north of the border to join up with Celtic, who are managed by former Reds boss Brendan Rodgers. Phillips found himself someway down the pecking order of centre-halves at Liverpool. In Scotland though he is likely to get more minutes which suits all parties.

He said upon completing the move: “I’m really excited. When I heard about the interest it was one that got me excited. There were a few other options that didn’t quite make me feel the same as this one did, so I was really keen to get it over the line and I’m delighted to be here now.”

Rodgers added: “We’re delighted to bring Nat to Celtic and we’re looking forward to working with him in the months ahead. It’s been well-documented that it’s an area of the team we needed to look at in the short-term due to a number of injuries we have experienced, and so we’re pleased that Nat will provide that defensive support in the squad."
