If you've ever wanted to watch a movie on the beach in style, now you can - thanks to LG's latest gadget

Since the dawn of the iPad, it's never been easier to enjoy TV and films on the go. But there's something just not quite right about watching blockbusters on the small screen. That's all set to change thanks to an unusual new gadget from LG Electronics.

The TV whizzes at the Korean tech giant have whipped up a massive portable screen that you can take almost anywhere. The LG StanbyME Go comes with a massive 27-inch touchscreen and four chunky speakers all built into a suitcase-style carrying case.

The portable screen comes with military-grade durability features and is designed to withstand everything from sea spray and dust to accidental drops. So if you're planning on screening Jaws on the beach, this could be the TV for you.

The best part of all is that you don't need an external power pack or battery, as it can withstand as much as three hours of use before you need to plug it in. That's basically the running time of Christopher Nolan's new hit 'Oppenheimer', meaning you could bring the StanbyME Go along for a cinema night while on your camping trip.

If you want to be a little bit more social, the StanbyME Go can be tilted into 'Table Mode'. This is where it lies flat so you can play games, such as chess, with each other or turn on a virtual record player.

Of course, the StanbyME Go also works just like a conventional smart TV meaning you access all your favourite streaming apps including Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube.

It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but the StanbyME Go is definitely something a bit different and could be just what you need on a long journey.

It's on sale now in the US with it expected to arrive in the UK next month. Full pricing will be revealed soon.
