Three people have been killed and another is fighting for their life after an Uber crashed into another car in Westmont, Los Angeles.
The collision took place around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday near the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Century Boulevard.
A white Mercedes-Benz sedan travelling northbound on Vermont Avenue at a high rate of speed apparently trying to beat a red light, authorities said, when it collided head-on with a black Honda sedan driven by an Uber rideshare driver.
The impact resulted in the deaths of three passengers in the Uber. All three were women, however, they haven't been identified as of yet. Two other individuals, including the Uber driver, were critically injured and hospitalized.

Witnesses reported that the speeding Mercedes was likely travelling at around 80 to 85 mph and collided with the Uber, which was either stopped or making a left turn.
The area remained blocked off for investigation, with authorities interviewing witnesses to gather more information about the incident.
A witness, Victor Gonzalez, told KTLA5: "[The Mercedes] was probably going 80 or 85. They were probably trying to beat the light but didn’t see the other driver, and that’s when the collision happened."
