Loose Women star Brenda Edwards has celebrated her son Jamal's 33rd birthday, after he tragically died last year.
Jamal, who would have been 33 yesterday (Thursday 24 August), died in January 2022 of a cardiac arrhythmia caused by recreational drugs at his mother Brenda's home in Acton, London. Jamal, who had an MBE, was a music entrepreneur, DJ and was the founder of the online R&B and Hip-Hop platform SB.TV. A coroner later concluded the young star had consumed cocaine and alcohol before later dying from a heart attack.
Mum Brenda still marked her son's 33rd birthday as she celebrated with her daughter Tanisha in what she described as a "lovely night". The star shared a snap of herself smiling alongside her daughter to her Instagram account.
In the Instagram Stories selfie, Brenda wrote: "Lovely night celebrating the life of my baby @jamaledwards well done and thank you @tanisha.arts_ love you."
The Loose Women and West End theatre star also shared aseries of snaps to her Instagram in tribute to the memory of her son. She wrote: "33 years ago today I had the pleasure of becoming your proud mummy. You showered me with a beautiful smile, a big heart, lots of laughs and many wise words. I miss you so deeply, I just can’t describe, but I know you’re watching over me and Nishee like always, just next to Mum and Dad. Blessed Heavenly Birthday my sweet beautiful baby Jamal. I love you always and forever."

Followers rushed to share support for Brenda on what would have been Jamal's 33rd birthday. One follower wrote: "Huge love to you all wonderful lady x." A second added: "Happy heavenly birthday Jamal. We all miss you but will look after your mumma the best we can.." A third commented: "Thinking of you Brenda. Sending huge love to you."
Fellow Loose Women stars also paid their respects, including comedian Judi Love who wrote: "Thinking of you all today my sweetie. I love you xx". Coleen Nolan added: "Thinking of you today my friend… he was such a beautiful soul and will never be forgotten." Ruth Langsford wrote: "Oh Brenda….sending you and Taneesha so much love and the tightest hug. Hold your memories close darling."
Kelle Bryan added: "Babe you and Nishee have my heart. There whenever if ever you need me. You know this. What a giant you raised and the work you are doing to continue his legacy is amazing."
