A mum banned for life from an all-you-can-eat buffet has criticised the management for making her children cry.

Caz King said she visited Buffet City, in Plymouth, last week with her two children. During their visit, her daughter, Mia, blocked the sink when they went to the loo to wash a small dessert plastic cup she wanted to take home for her kitten.

A week later, they went back to the same restaurant to celebrate the 13th birthday of her son, Luca. However, before they could even pick up a plate, staff told her she was banned for life in front of other paying customers.

Caz told PlymouthLive: “[Mia] was crying so hard in front of the staff and all they said is it took an hour to unblock the sink. She is 10, I didn't let it go but the staff just wasn't allowing it.

"She was sobbing her heart out, I feel it will scar her for life. She was hysterical. It was really upsetting to see. But my poor daughter took ages to calm her down. She's 10 and didn't need to hear we are banned because of her, and over something so stupid. I am fuming - and we are banned for life over this.

“The staff also said you went to the toilet too many times. Ok, I have a 10-year-old girl. I have tummy issues. They have no idea what health problems people have so that should not have been said.

“My daughter said we only went three times. Which is true."

A spokesperson for Buffet City confirmed Caz has been banned from their all-you-can-eat buffet restaurant, but her children are still welcome.

The restaurant said it cannot serve Caz in the future and she is not allowed to come in, but wanted to stress this was a unique situation and it rarely bans customers from the restaurant.

Buffet City claimed the reason Caz had been banned from the restaurant is because she "took food" out of the restaurant, as well as bringing in her own drink, which Caz denied.

A Buffet City spokesperson said: "She's not allowed to come in, we will not serve her anymore. I have talked to her already, last time when she came in with her two children, she took the food from our restaurant. We are doing a buffet, customers they only eat in, they can't take away.

"She also brought her own drinks in from outside, customers can't bring in their own drinks. She also broke our toilet as well. That's why when she came in yesterday we said we could not serve her. This is a special circumstance and we always welcome everyone."
