Prince Harry will not visit his dad or brother on the first anniversary of the Queen’s death during a busy trip back home, sources revealed.
Insiders confirmed neither the King nor Prince William have plans to see the Duke, while he has “no intention” of visiting them on a whistle-stop stay. Harry will attend a charity awards event in London on September 7 before the royals mourn Queen Elizabeth II, 96, who died on September 8 last year.
Harry’s Invictus Games for wounded troops begins in Dusseldorf, Germany, on September 9, meaning he is likely to spend less than 48 hours in the UK. A source said the family relationship remains “firmly rooted at rock bottom” after Harry’s criticism of Charles, 74, and William, 41, and other royals in TV interviews and his explosive memoir Spare.
The insider added: “While some may suggest it would be good order for the family to settle their differences, perhaps even in the late Queen’s memory, things are a long way off.” The last time Harry was with Charles and William was the King’s Coronation on May 6.

The King and wife Camilla are expected to mark the Queen’s death privately at Balmoral, where she died, while William and Kate will be in Wales for visits.

Another royal insider suggests the Duke of Sussex may make time to see his cousins, Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice. Harry is not understood to have spoken to his brother in months and has had little contact with his father. Sources claim there are no plans for a public event or get-together to mark the Queen’s death, although members of the Royal Family are set to go to Balmoral for their summer holidays.
The beleaguered Duke of York will also visit the Aberdeenshire estate with his daughters. The Duke of Sussex has been WellChild’s patron for 15 years but Meghan is not expected to join him at the awards ceremony next month. The pair withdrew from last year’s event, held on the day the Queen died.
Harry said last night: “For nearly 20 years, WellChild has been transforming the lives of children and young people across the UK, providing critical care that prioritises the physical, mental and emotional well-being of these individuals and their families.”
