America's Got Talent viewers slammed one act for their performance after deeming it too dangerous to be on TV.

Fans of the show were afraid one of the contestants was going to end up in hospital after witnessing Ray Wold and his mother performing their fire-based act on the first live shows last night. Ray was seen with his clothing and a hat engulfed in flames throughout their performance, as well as throwing a lasso of flames.

He was also seen throwing flaming arrows at a target before putting chains around his neck and wrists as he got into a bath tub full of water. His mother, Corinne, then poured gasoline on top and lit it, with Ray battling to free himself from the chains and get above the water before he was burnt.

Corinne was also seen setting her bottom alight before heading to a bucket of water and sitting in it to dowse the flames. While Simon Cowell loved the act, Howie Mandel was less impressed and buzzed them off with an X.

It wasn't just Howie who was left with a bitter taste in their mouth by the scenes - with fans taking to social media to slam the show after they shared clips of the performance online. One wrote: "NOT FUNNY!!!"

A second slammed: "Pure stupidity. Spend 10 minutes in a burn unit. This is dumb." A third added: "The act is funny, but dangerous." A fourth echoed: "It's not funny". A fifth concerned viewer posted: "No...no...no. Very, very dangerous."

It's not the first time the act has come under fire from viewers, their first audition also drew negative attention with fans of the show concerned it wasn't appropriate for children. One wrote: "I liked but at the same time I didn’t cause I was so scared for the mom. She looked like she kept saying don’t hit me."

Another added: "I was scared by this let alone any kids that were watching." A third posted: "The mother and son are a death-defying act. Just watched this act, this just creeped me out."

A fourth social media user said: "I am with Howie on this one. It’s a no for me." Tonight's episode will see fans find out if Ray and Corinne make it to the next round.
