Love Island star Toby Aromolaran has taken aim at ex-girlfriend Chloe Burrows following her heart-breaking confession on Celebs Go Dating about their split.
The former couple met on the ITV dating show in 2021, only to split in October of 2022 after briefly living together in Essex. Chloe, 27, has now tearfully opened up about their high-profile breakup and how it has affected her other relationships.
Appearing on Tuesday's episode of Celebs Go Dating, the Love Island runner-up revealed that she and Toby hadn't seen "each other in a month" by the time they called it quits. Chloe, who had also coupled with Hugo and Aaron F on the ITV dating show, then explained how the experience has negatively impacted her current love life.
"Things were going well and then fell apart and we both knew. We hadn't seen each other in a month. I'm not going to beg someone to be with me," she recalled. The Bicester native went on to hint that she wasn't the one to initiate the breakup, confessing, "I wasn't ready for it to end then." She also admitted she now struggles to date successfully, adding, "It has made me a nightmare to deal with, with boys."
Toby, 23, appears to have now responded to Chloe's emotional recollection of their split. The Hashtag United footballer took to Instagram on Wednesday to share an Instagram Story with the caption, "Wait, you guys think it actually went down like that?" and a cheeky laughing face emoji. The cryptic post suggests he disagrees with Chloe's version of the story, which has received quite the reaction from viewers.
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesSome Love Island fans even headed to Toby's Instagram to urge him to reunite with the marketing executive, whom they believe still harbours romantic feelings for him.
"You gotta get back with her bro she’s crying on celebs go dating she’s still in love w you," one person wrote, while another said, "Toby she misses u bro call her."
In a previous interview with the Mirror, Chloe shared details about Toby's reaction to her participation in the latest season of Celebs Go Dating. "We were speaking, we were quite friendly and I told him about it," she said. "It wasn't a difficult conversation because we are friends. I know he said in an article recently that we don't speak but, we're not on bad terms. Out of respect, I did tell him and he was like, 'Do it.' I don't know if he was jumping for joy but, he knew.'"
