A pregnant woman ended up trapped inside a Burger King overnight, needing to be rescued at 4am.
The incident unfolded overnight and into the early hours of Wednesday 23 August, at the Burger King branch in the Central Six retail park, in Coventry, West Midlands.
The unnamed woman was said to be pregnant and it isn’t clear how she got into the fast food chain - which closed at 10pm.
But a few hours later, it emerged that she was locked inside, and shortly before 4am, West Midlands Fire Service were alerted to the strange incident unfolding. The crew was able to gain access to the shuttered restaurant and safely get the woman, who CoventryLive reports is pregnant, out - at which point she left the scene. Police were also called to the bizarre incident.
In a statement, West Midlands Fire Service said: “Shortly before 3.45am on Wednesday (23 August), we responded to reports of a person locked inside a Burger King restaurant in the Central Six Retail Park, Warwick Road, Coventry. A fire engine from Coventry responded, arriving within three minutes of being mobilised.

“Crews gained access to the restaurant, which was closed at the time of the incident. One woman safely exited the premises and left the scene. It's not known how the woman came to be locked inside. We left the scene at 4.12am.”
