Sony is closing out February strong, having just launched the PSVR 2 this week, and following up with a PlayStation State of Play event dedicated to the upcoming Suicide Squad game along with a peek at upcoming VR titles.

The PlayStation State of Play livestream is kicking off tonight at 9pm GMT / 4pm ET / 1pm PT and is set to give us a more in-depth look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. A whole 15 minutes in fact, of all new, all-dancing, gameplay. Given that Sony's State of Play streams usually clock in at under the 30-minute mark that doesn't leave a lot of time for much else!

But we've been promised a look at five upcoming PSVR 2 games that will be launching later this year. That could be any of the five titles for the headset announced this week as part of a 10-strong lineup, or some of the 30 plus games slated for the launch window through March that haven't yet graced us with their presence.

Don't expect a deep dive though; Sony has called this a "first glimpse", and given how tight the State of Play schedule is looking with Suicide Squad potentially eating up half of the runtime, it could be a blink-and-you'll-miss-it situation.

How to watch the PlayStation State of Play livestream

You can tune into the PlayStation State of Play livestream on either Twitch or YouTube, depending on which platform you frequent the most. We've embedded the YouTube stream for you below but you can head on over to the PlayStation Twitch channel if you prefer.

The State of Play starts in under an hour, so pop the kettle on, crack open a beer, and pour yourself a glass of wine. It's best to have all three on the go for the sake of having some options. I'll be sticking to water, as I'm on the clock, but have one for me.

And that's a wrap

PlayStation State of Play has wrapped up, finishing off with a very in-depth look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, as promised. I can't say I'm too excited for the game at this point, but players who like the look of it will no doubt be exicted at the prospect of the new characters Rocksteady has teased for further down the line.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League gear up

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League deep dive is showing off gear sets, and loadouts, as well as cosmetic costumes. Rocksteady is promising new content and characters post-end game as well. Although on one is mentioning the elephant in the room, which is the battle pass...

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Finally, we're at the climax of the show (unless Sony has any more surprises up its sleeve). We're rounding things out with a very manic, disjointed look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. To quote our fantastic freelancer Scott McCrae, "it looks like a cr*p Crackdown." He's not wrong, but maybe we're both just miserable old codgers who don't have any friends to play co-op games with.

The answer as to how they're being killed is also answered, with Wonder Woman having to do the deed and wipe out the DC heroes to save the world. All thanks to Brainiac, who's brainwashed the Justice League. If you're a DC fan who also like Crackdown, this will be right up your street.

Resident Evil 4 remake

The Capcom goodness continues with an action-packed trailer for the Resident Evil 4 remake which is dropping March 24, 2023 and is getting a special demo. So we'll keep our eyes open for more on that!

Street Fighter 6

After a detour with some more arty-looking games, like Humanity and Goodbye Volcano High, and the announcement of Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, it's on to Street Fighter 6! We got a look at Zangief gameplay, and he's looking thick as ever. Newcomer Lily is got her time to shime as well, and we rounded out this portion of the roster reveal with Cammy.

The trailers keep on coming

Next up is a Destiny 2: Lightfall trailer so don't forget to make the most of the free Beyond Light DLC available in the PS Plus February 2023 lineup. We're also getting the tropical open-world adventure Tchia which drops onto the platform March 21, 2023. The game will be coming to PS Plus Extra so it's a great time to sign up.

Time-hopping VR

Before Your Eyes is the BAFTA Award-winning (and kinds depressing if I'm honest) VR title that lets you take a retrospective look at your life from the great beyond. The sylised look is super pretty though,so maybe that'll make up for the melancholic subject matter.

PSVR 2 is kicking things off

It's straight into anorther PSVR 2 title with Synapse. Powers galore on show here and I will say I'm getting a sniff of Superhot. Which also had its own VR mode. Journey to Foundation looks a bit more narrative heavy, if sci-fi is your cup of tea.

PlayStation State of Play is starting

The PlayStation State of Play livestream is starting and we're being thrown straight into a PSVR 2 montage. First up is The Foglands, coming in 2023. The shooter looks pretty interesting and is giving me Shadow Man vibes. It's followed by Green Hell – you're stuck in a jungle fighting off the local wildlife in this one. Good luck with that!

Will we get an answer to the biggest Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League question?

The biggest question on everyone's lips about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is whether Rocksteady's return to the Arkhamversewill be an extended one. A Suicide Squad leak last month suggested that we'll be seeing a battle pass coming to the game, pointing to the possibility of it being live service.

Apparently the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League battle pass focuses on skins and cosmetics, rather than anything that will actually affect gameplay, but we're hoping for some clarity around this today. Marvel’s Avengers and Gotham Knights live service elements went down about as well as Gwen Stacy, so it'll be interesting to see how this is addressed.
