Strictly star Ellie Leach is celebrating landing a slot on the show - after she was left heartbroken this year. The former Corrie actress, 22, who left the ITV soap in May, split from her boyfriend of five years Reagan Pettman in the same month after learning he had cheated on her.
And sources told how her stint on the BBC ballroom show has helped Ellie to put the smile back on her face after the painful break up. One said: “Ellie has had a hard few months. Leaving Corrie was emotional for her because she loved the show and the cast so much.

“Ellie is a really positive person and always has a smile on her face - but it’s been a difficult time. That’s why it was brilliant that she has landed Strictly, it has really given her something to smile about.”
