A little girl broke 15 bones in her skull after a fall at a holiday park.
Lily-Mae West, eight, has remained "so brave and positive" despite the horror plunge onto "rock hard floor" at the holiday park in North Yorkshire. She spent time in hospital recovering and now intends to raise money for the facility in Leeds.
The accident happened last year when Lily-Mae and her mum, Katie, 32, dad Matthew and brother Elliot took part in a football zorbing activity onsite. Due to Lily-Mae's sensory needs, the youngster felt claustrophobic and removed herself from the activity. After removing herself, she began playing at the side of the activity area with the coach when she was knocked over in a freak accident hitting her head on the ground, breaking 15 bones in her skull.
The brave little girl is pictured with mum, Katie, dad Matthew and brother ElliotLily-Mae was rushed to the Leeds General Infirmary, reports Yorkshire Live, and missed eight weeks of school. Katie, though, says her daughter's recovery has been "amazing".
"Other than her sleeping problems you wouldn't know anything happened to her, she's been so brave and positive. She goes to psychology because the accident has been affecting her at bedtime, she has nightmares but apart from that she is fine," Katie, from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, said.

"She has done amazing, she really is amazing. She had eight weeks off school which is what she found the hardest because it was a full term off, she was desperate to be back and be with her friends and everything."
Now the little girl is raising money to buy books and toys which she can donate to Leeds General Infirmary. Next month, she will sell lemonade and buns from her lemonade stand built by her granddad. Katie has created a GoFundMe (GFM) page to help the good cause.
Katie, who is a wellbeing officer in a secondary school, added: "The GFM was my idea, but it was all her idea to raise money with a lemonade stand - in two days she's raised £315 on the page alone.
"She wanted to buy books for the hospital because when she was in there she couldn't see out of her eyes due to her injury and us reading those books to her was the only thing that gave her comfort. But in the week she was in there we managed to read all of the books at least five times so she wants to buy more to give to the children who are in there for a long time.
"While in hospital we got talking to people on the ward whose children were in for months, she wants to make sure they have plenty to read." Katie and Lily-Mae are also hoping to raise money for charity, Trauma From Day One, who helped massively during the recovery. You can visit the fundraiser here.
