A BBC News presenter suffered an awkward blunder while live on air days after another accidentally swore.

On Friday, Midlands Today broadcaster Amy Cole was reporting the demonstration against the demolition of the Crooked House pub - which was recently burned down after 192 years of business.

While reporting updates for the viewers, Amy made a mistake and decided to start the report again. She explained: "Because of that appeal from the West Midlands mayor Andy Street, asking people not now to go ... let's do it again."

The cameraman changed the angle and zoomed in on her face as she said 'okay' and started her report again. Some viewers caught the mistake and took to social media to point it out.

"Another retake making it to air on the BBC. No bad language this time though," one page posted. "This "as live" report from Amy Cole on BBC Midlands Today's 6.30pm programme today. Thanks to one of our readers for flagging."

It comes after viewers were left speechless when a reported swore live on air during their report. News anchor Matthew Amroliwala gave an update on the data breach from the police in Northern Ireland. He handed over to journalist Charlotte Gallagher for more details on the story. However, a technical error meant the reporter couldn't be seen on the screen.

Trying to save the report, Matthew explained: "We can't bring you that clip, but our correspondent Charlotte Gallagher has this report." The live feed then went to Charlotte, who was in the BBC newsroom in Belfast. She explained more about the data breach after hundreds of names of officers were leaked. However, it wasn't long before viewers realised they were seeing an unfinished clip.

Charlotte started to trip over her words and became frustrated. She then quipped: "I can't get my words out... F**k". The reporter could then be seen rolling her tongue over her teeth as she tried to start again but was quickly cut back to the studio. A shocked Matthew told viewers: "Well apologies there for that confusion, that was our correspondent Charlotte Gallagher.

"She's been monitoring what's been happening there at that news conference. We will get more on that here in the next little while." Many viewers were shocked by what they witnessed and took to Twitter to share their thoughts. One user commented: "Oh no... out-takes making it to air". Another posted: "Been a few of these technical issues on the Beeb recently. I wonder what's going wrong".
