Lil Tay's ex-manager believes 'alternative motive' at play as he blames brother

Lil Tay's former manager is "relieved" that the rapper is safe but believes an "alternative motive" may be at play. In a statement, the social media star dismissed the "jarring misinformation and rumours" shared to her Instagram account in the statement allegedly from her family, which she says was "compromised by a third party".

After initially stating that he was "unable to confirm or deny" whether Lil Tay had actually passed or not, her former manager Harry Tsang has exclusively revealed that he "finds relief in the fact that she is safe", but believes there was an "alternative motive" to the social media hoax and claims it was driven by her brother.

He told us: "Upon learning about Lil Tay's assertion of her well-being, I find relief in the fact that she is safe. However, I believe the reported hacking incident may not have occurred. My rationale for this perspective is twofold: firstly, the restoration of a compromised account on platforms like Meta/Instagram typically does not necessitate a 24-hour timeframe.

"Secondly, the actions of Lil Tay’s brother, renowned for his propensity for extreme measures, lead me to hypothesize an alternative motive behind this occurrence," Harry added.

"Simultaneously, if the underlying motive is indeed to rekindle Lil Tay's prominence within the public sphere, I contend that such actions demonstrate a certain degree of irresponsibility. It's essential to consider the potential repercussions of employing such tactics, particularly given their potential impact on the perceptions and sentiments of the broader audience," Harry concluded.

Harry's claims come after Lil Tay spoke to TMZ about the hoax, telling the publication: "I want to make it clear that my brother and I are safe and alive, but I’m completely heartbroken, and struggling to even find the right words to say. It’s been a very traumatising 24 hours. All day yesterday, I was bombarded with endless heart-breaking and tearful phone calls from loved ones all while trying to sort out this mess.

She added: "My Instagram account was compromised by a 3rd party and used to spread jarring misinformation and rumours regarding me, to the point that even my name was wrong. My legal name is Tay Tian, not 'Claire Hope'."

Lil Tay thanked Meta for helping her recover access to her account, and has since taken down the false statement announcing her death. The statement, seemingly released by her family read: "It is with a heavy heart that we share the devastating news of our beloved Claire's sudden and tragic passing. We have no words to express the unbearable loss and indescribable pain."
