Mitch Taylor has called out Kady McDermott for calling him 'a superfan' in a recent interview, before accusing his fellow Love Island star of being 'fake' and having a secret boyfriend while in the villa.
However, Kady has since hit back at the claims in a lengthy Instagram Stories statement, suggesting that she has been "deliberately targeted by some of [her] fellow Islanders" over controversial remarks she made on several podcasts. The two influencers have been at loggerheads after both being dumped from Series 10 of the ITV dating reality show last month, and it appears their back-and-forth squabbling is only getting worse.
Speaking on Heat Dates last week, Kady caused quite the stir when she labelled Mitch a 'Love Island superfan' and claimed that he "studied every series of Love Island" before landing the gig. The 27-year-old, who also appeared on Series 2, added, "He even said to me he wants to be a memorable character." She also accused his relationship with Ella B as being 'fake from both sides', adding, "In the villa we were with each other every second of the day. We know if there is genuine connections or not. The two are faking it."
Mitch, who was evicted from the villa just a day before the Love Island 2023 finale, didn't take kindly to Kady's harsh words. Speaking to ODE Entertainment on Monday, the 26-year-old accused The Only Way is Essex star of being 'fake' and alleged that she had a secret relationship whilst filming the show.
"You calling me and Ella B 'fake', you came in with a boyfriend. You have a boyfriend to this day," he told hot Jodi McCallum, before alleging that Kady was wearing her partner's bracelet while in the villa. He also condemned the Celebs Go Dating star for her widespread slating of former contestants after leaving the show, adding, "She must be the first Islander to come off and mince everyone."
TOWIE's Chloe Brockett makes cheeky dig at Saffron Lempriere during filming"I am known as 'Messy Mitch," he continued, before adding, "I should be doing what Kady's doing and all I'm doing right now is retaliating."
"I don't know why Kady's doing it," he said, before clarifying, "The thing is, I really like Kady. We were at the Love Island final event and she grabbed me and said, 'Mitch, you're my favourite character, I love you to pieces'." The former gas engineer admitted he didn't understand why she was being nice to his face but criticising him on camera, musing that it could be to gain "15 minutes" of fame.
Elsewhere on the podcast, Mitch claimed that Kady had to "come back on another season because you was becoming irrelevant."
"You're calling me fake, you're calling me a superfan. If you were to take accountability for your actions and said, 'Yeah, I did this,' but you're being fake and everybody else," he continued.
The emotional clip has attracted a wave of reactions from Love Island fans since being shared on TikTok, with many taking the comment section below to voice their support for the Sheffield native.
Kady has since denied Mitch's 'secret boyfriend' claims in a lengthy statement, meanwhile also announcing her split from Ouzy See after meeting in the villa. Her statement read: "Although I have raised this before I feel I need to address this one more time, before I can finally put this to bed. I have always been clear that my views are my opinions of MY time in the villa, how I saw relationships, read situations and contestants behaviour.
"During interviews since leaving the villa I have answered questions asked to me. Please remember interviews can be edited just like a TV show to draw in viewers with clickbait snippets of much longer conversations. I have apologised to those that have been upset to hear my opinions as this was never my intetion, but since I have felt deliberately targeted by some of my fellow islanders. I have also been getting death threats since my podcasts which is not ok.
"Th narrative that is circulating that I had a boyfriend whilst in the Love Island villa is categorically FALSE. My mum stayed at mine whilst I was in the villa to look after my dog and house. The media have been relentless with this narrative and it now appears others want to jump on the bandwagon too. Speaking opinions is one thing but making such bold statements with confidence is wrong. Not only are they false they can be very damaging.
"Sadly late last night Ouzy's behavious and actions from the 30th July were brought to my attention. Ouzy is one of the loveliest people I have met and I know he is remorseful but unfortunately actions have consequences and although we are not 'official' in our relationship status I am definitely not prepared to start a relationship on this foot. I wish him nothing but happiness and success in his life. Thank you for the continued support by so many of you, I'd like to focus on the many positives and move on with my life now."
