Burger King has launched a new burger, the latest in the line of its Gourmet Kings range- the Peppercorn Angus.

The brand-new burger arrived in Burger King restaurants nationwide on Tuesday (21 February).

The fast food chain said the new menu item consists of an Aberdeen Angus beef patty, four slices of bacon, onion, rocket salad with peppercorn mayonnaise and caramelised onion served between a toasted brioche bun.

The brand-new premium burger itself will set you back £7.69, and if you fancied a Peppercorn Angus Meal, which includes sides and a drink, you can get it for £9.69.

The new burger will join Burger Kings Angus Sweet Onion and Sweet Onion Double, and its Angus Bacon and Double Bacon burgers on the chain's Gourmet King's menu.

The Peppercorn Angus is not the only burger the fast food chain has launched recently, with vegans beside themselves at the announcement of a plant-based Bakon King range.

In December the chain announced that it was to introduce for Veganuary, the Vegan Royale Bakon King and The Plant-Based Bakon King.

Burger King is no stranger to launching plant-based products as its vegan nuggets and its Vegan Royale are incredibly popular and are now permanent menu items.

There are 515 Burger King stores currently in the UK and is usually not considered as popular as its fast food rival Mcdonald's.

However, the chain announced last year that it was planning on opening a further 200 sites in the UK.

In April last year, Burger King noted that had "good visibility" for the "pipeline of future restaurant openings" and aims to complete it by 2026.

The chain actually opened a new dining area at its Teesside South Bank branch today.

The branch opened last December and originally operates as a drive-through-only site.

To celebrate this opening, Burger King gave away 1,000 free Whoppers, or plant-based Whoppers, to the people of Middlesborough.
