Judi Love jumps to Serena Williams' defence after trolls hit out at her pregnancy

Loose Women star Judi Love jumped to Serena Williams' defence after trolls made cruel jibes about her second pregnancy. The tennis star, 41, announced she is expecting her second child with husband Alexis Ohanian in May and debuted her bump on the Met Gala red carpet.

Serena revealed her pregnancy as she was interviewed at the Met Gala, confirming there were in fact three of them at the chat – herself, Alexis and the baby. Speaking to La La Anthony during a Vogue livestream, her husband and the interviewer offered to have a drink in Serena's honour.

While most people were over the moon to hear the exciting news, some cruel trolls said Serena is having a "geriatric pregnancy" referring to a medical term that applies to any mum-to-be over the age of 35. Loose Women's Judi called them out and questioned why the star shouldn't welcome a second child at her age.

"Because Serena is 41, a couple of commenters have called it a 'geriatric pregnancy' but that’s out of order. I know it’s a medical term, but she’s a happy, healthy, beautiful woman who has had an incredible career," Judi said. "Why shouldn’t she have another baby? You don’t see them calling it 'geriatric sperm'!"

The columnist also told OK! she can't wait "to see them take on their next adventure". Serena and Alexis tied the knot in November 2017, just two months after they welcomed their first child together – daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr.

The tennis icon also confirmed her pregnancy with a sweet post on Instagram as she shared a series of snaps of her Met Gala look. "Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala," she captioned the post.

Her fans rushed to congratulate the sportswoman, with one person writing: "Happy for u momma." Another said: "So so happy for you, Alexis, and Olympia! You deserve all the happiness in the world champ!" "Awwwwww!!!!!!! Another champion babyyyyy is cooking," a third fan wrote while someone else added: "Wow congrats queen."

Serena welcomed Alexia Olympia into the world in 2017 and shared the news on social media. Sharing a video on her page, she wrote: "Hello, world. Baby girl Alexis Olympia Ohanian Jr. Born: September 1, 2017. Weight: 6lb 14oz. Grand slam titles: 1." She announced the pregnancy in April of that year on her snapchat.
