Jake Paul has named Nate Diaz as his toughest opponent to date despite Tommy Fury being the only man to beat him.

Paul returned to winning ways on Saturday night as he beat UFC legend Diaz by unanimous decision, marking his first win since losing to Fury in February. The fight was relatively one-sided as Paul had a fast start before dropping Diaz in the fifth and. despite the UFC legend coming on strong in the later rounds, the judges scored it 97-92, 98-91 and 98-91 in Paul's favour.

The YouTube boxer has expressed interest in avenging his defeat to Paul but also wants to rematch Diaz in MMA. Paul said after the fight: "I was just having fun and that was the missing ingredient in my last fight, now I am having fun back on that side of things and Nate was the toughest opponent I've fought to date."

"One thing I took from it was the confidence I can do 10 rounds with non-stop power-punching, that's great experience. Just getting more and more comfortable in the ring, learning to box and slow things down. I knew he was trying to take brakes so I would bounce on him when he would do that."

Paul has clashed with rivals KSI and Conor McGregor online after they criticised his performance against Diaz. The YouTuber still has his sights set on a fight against undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez as he dismissed a potential clash with McGregor despite his past call-outs of the Irishman.

'The Problem Child' was surprised that Diaz was able to survive his first round onslaught as he added: “I don’t know how he survived the first round but he’s a dog and I walked the dog. For sure [he felt my power], I could see it the whole fight. In the first round, I seen his eyes light up and he was like, ‘Ok, they talk about this kid’s power, but when you feel it, it’s different.’"

“My motor was running hot and I was punching him hard and hard and hard, and he wasn’t going down,” Paul said. “He was standing there. So I didn’t want to burn out and let him catch a win and come back with something. I was being patient, being smart, and was looking for the kill but at the end of the day he withstood a bunch of big, big, big punches.”
