Graham Foster makes a shock return to EastEnders this evening after 18 years off air.

He first arrived on the Square back in 2003 where he took a shine to Little Mo Slater. He seemed to be all keen on her but things took a terrifyingly dark turn when he raped her, leading her to become pregnant with Freddie. After the police learn of what he had done, he was sentenced by the courts to eight years in prison and vowed to return to Walford one day.

It looks like that day is now. Freddie - played by Bobby Brazier - recently arrived on the Square, and in recent episodes has been adamant to find out about his father. He manages to track him down to a car dealership and decides to go visit him.

Aside from EastEnders, actor Alex McSweeney has also starred in a number of other big shows. He's had cameos in the likes of Endeavour, Silent Witness and Call The Midwife, whilst he's also appeared as two different roles in Doctors.

He also had two stints in Holby City, as well as starring in Primeval as Captain Wilder for four episodes. He's had cameos in The Bill, as well as ITV series Lewis amongst other big shows but he will going back to his EastEnders roots this week.

Alex McSweeney said of his return to the BBC soap: "I was grateful to be asked back to EastEnders to reprise the role of Graham Foster as I thought it was important for Freddie Slater to be given some answers about his dad. It was great to be back in Elstree and I thoroughly enjoyed working with the talented Bobby Brazier on these scenes."

Chris Clenshaw, the soap's Executive Producer, added: "It’s great to welcome Alex back to the role of Graham Foster for a short stint. Although we haven’t seen Graham for almost two decades, his character has been heavily linked to the show in the past year with the reintroduction of his son Freddie Slater, played by Bobby Brazier. We felt that it was important for Freddie to find out about the circumstances relating to his conception so he can understand and process the identity of his dad."
