Meghan Markle made it no secret she was a fan of Victoria Beckham as they attended the same event in 2013.
The Duchess of Sussex was trying to crack the UK showbiz circuit five years before she went on to marry Prince Harry at St George's Chapel. Before meeting her future husband, Meghan, 41, was a budding actress until she landed the role of paralegal Rachel Zane in the legal drama Suits.
Ahead of hanging up her acting boots, she appeared in 108 episodes of the series between 2011 and 2018, with her final scene being filmed in 2017. But while she was known across the pond, Meghan allegedly had her sights set on becoming the next big name in the UK.
Her former pal Lizzie Cundy has now shared Meghan's initial reaction to seeing Victoria following reports that Meghan and her husband believed former pals David and Victoria had been leaking stories to the press. It's said that former Manchester United legend David was left "absolutely bloody furious" at the suggestion.

Now, they are said to no longer be on speaking terms with the Beckham's distancing themselves from the former actress.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lizzie, who was with Meghan when she first saw Posh Spice at the Global Gift Gala in 2013, said: "Meghan is saying that Victoria leaked stories. The second time I saw Meghan, Victoria was at the event and I've never seen anyone squeal quite like it, Meghan was so thrilled with excited to see Victoria Beckham. She went 'Oh my God, that's Victoria Beckham!'
"It was crazy, I thought 'You've got to calm down and be cool', now Harry has apparently listened to Meghan claiming Victoria has done stories saying where Meghan was going to go. There were places Victoria told Meghan to go to when she came to London and they started appearing in the press."
The pair met in 2013 when Lizzie was asked to sit with the actress at a charity event held by her pal John Caudwell, Meghan allegedly wanted a role on Made In Chelsea and Lizzie attempted to set her up with Ashley Cole.

She was a proper big fan, she let that show – Victoria doesn't need to leak stories, she doesn't need to do that. If anything, Victoria and David are real family people, they don't like the way Meghan has trashed the Royal Family and her own father.
"I think Victoria and David have slowly tiptoed away like the other friends, many friends who went to the wedding have tiptoed away from Meghan. These are real big family people, there's no way Victoria would've leaked stories." Mum-of-two Lizzie joked that Meghan's face lit up "like a Christmas tree" during their encounter on the red carpet.
Lizzie claims that Meghan may have "manipulated" Harry into believing the power couple were behind a series of leaks which emerged in the press during their secret relationship. "At this rate, they'll have no friends at all!" the TalkTV host exclaimed.
Harry reportedly confronted David over the allegations, with a source telling The Sun in 2020: "Harry was very polite, but obviously it was a pretty awkward exchange and David was mortified. He quickly put Harry right, and the two men agreed to move on - but it certainly made things awkward for a while. It later turned out that the leak probably came from a beauty salon."
